What a week. It has been a very fast paced and busy busy week! For those of you following, You know that Elder Romero was my MTC companion!! So we have had a blast reminiscing from the things that were taking place in our lives so early in our missions which is coming up to be about a year ago now. So weird to think where the time has all gone. It fills me with a sense of urgency to make every second of this coming year last. Altogether on paper our week was not bad. It was Ok in truth. I have really been feeling the weight of this transfer on ME. Especially since for the first little bit of this transfer I'm more or less helping Elder Romero figure things out and get settled into the area too. I don't want to let people down. I cant let down our Investigators, our Ward Leaders, our Missionaries, Our president, and Especially God. There seems to be so much to do and so much at stake and so much required. I cant let them down. It's been kind of stressful. But it's also been pushing me to grow a lot. I appreciate it in a weird sort of way. I can see how it will all change me. I just need to be diligent and do my best. Elder Romero has helped me stay happy. He's an EXCELLENT missionary. I am so happy to be serving with him again. He's made things a lot easier. I really appreciate him.
I love being a missionary y'all. Be it known that this is the greatest thing any human could ever be apart of. Jump on the bandwagon. We're marching to Zion! Peace and love and Prayers to all. Included are pictures of me and Elder Romero and our miracle for this week! which was a shed that our Elder's quorum is going to help rebuild for some investigators that we teach! I am very excited about it for them. Hopefully it will encourage them to start meeting with us again. They are good people. -Elder Davis I dont have much to say this week. We had a cool experience with a New Investigator that we are teaching named Ms Marion. She's an Older women who lives in a neighborhood that we visit often. We read 3 Nephi 11 with her and the spirit was so strong the whole Lesson. We helped her understand that the Book Of Mormon really does Testify of Christ, that it is true, and that it is so vitally important to us today. She is so excited about the Book Of Mormon. This week when we came over we were just chatting for the first few minutes while we were in the door and we had barely sat down when she said "Alright Let's get to reading the Mormon Bible! I love it when Y'all read to me! Let's say a prayer!" She was just so excited and ready to learn. It was wonderful. Whenever we talk she hangs on every word that we say. She wants us to teach her everything! She loves the Gospel and she accepted an invitation to be baptized on just our second visit! She wants to come to church with us and learn everything. It is so exciting. We are going to stay very close to her to help her keep that fire. There is so much potential and love in this area.Transfers have come and gone. I will probably be staying another 3 months as a Zone Leader in New Orleans. Elder Crouch is leaving and going to my first area in Alexandria Louisiana. I have been telling him all about the members there and the stories I have from that area I'm going to make him a list of people that he has to visit and remind them that I love them and havent forgotten about them. Especially Irma. Good Ol Irma In Alexandria. I miss her a LOT! (Irma was more or less the First Investigator that I found, taught and helped to be baptized. She is still very active in the ward and is doing wonderful I think about her ALL the time.) I will be serving with my Old MTC Companion ELDER ROMERO. I am very excited to be serving with him. We had a blast in the MTC serving together and now were reunited to serve as Zone Leaders again in the real deal. I am so excited about it. I'll be meeting up with him tomorrow and moving our adventure will begin! Pictures: I saw a Delorean that someone had tricked out to look EXACTLY like the one from back to the future. So we pulled over and had to take a picture of it. It was so cool. A lot of the cars we see here in NOLA are very unique. -Elder Davis I also thought I'd include: we did talk to the guy in the back of my picture. he didnt really want to talk to us at all though. He just wanted a picture with the car. Same as us. |
