Our Golden man the referral Is in Baton Rouge right now. (Im going to call him MR P.) His dad had a pretty intense medical Issue come up. SO he has been out there. He is still reading and prayin and keeping the faith. He even asked US for a priesthood blessing to help comfort him. So I am still not worried about him. Satan is very apparently working on him though. We will see if he is able to meet his baptismal date for April the 11th.
The man we Contacted on the Street (MR. C) with the Drinking problem was dropped for a while because he was just too plain depressed to get anything out of our lessons. we would talk to him and he would just stare off into the distance and retain 0 of what we talked about. We kept stopping by to see him though and we actually found out last night that through all of everything He has been reading and praying and working on quitting alcohol all on his own! God really has been working with him! Seeing that gives me such Confidence In Gods plan and ability to work in our lives. He has gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon all on his own (without our help) and Is striving to change his life. Last night was the first time since we met him on the street that night that he decided that he actually wanted the help of the missionaries. So we will start making him a priority again.
The lady we met on the street who cried (Ms S.) has had a really rough past. She is a single mother trying to raise a family of 3 on her own without a job. She is currently between houses. and frequently texts us not to forget about her. We like to call her and remind her that we definitely have not every now and then. Until She finds a place to live and we can invite her brother over to sit in with us on our lessons we will have to wait. God is keeping a close eye on her for us.
Not much happened this week So Im just going to send some pictures this time around.
We had a potluck at the church and I ate squirrel and rabbit and Garfish for the first time. It was rad. other than that. not much else happened. It was a rougher week for me. Esta bien though!! :)
The first picture is a Dog that one of our neighbors owns. Her name is Toby and she is the fattest weiner Dog I have ever seen. I busted up laughing so hard when she ran over to greet us. Her legs are SOOOO short lol but shes adorable.
the second picture is the Alligator turtle that we saw last week. I forgot to include it in last weeks email.
The last 2 are a picture of an Elder in our apartment named Elder Smith. He BUUURRRNNNEEEDD some brownies he was making for an investigator reaaaaaallllyyy badly. it was basically a block of charcoal. it smoked up the whole apartment and was kind of hilarious looking back on it.
i Think out of every body in my apartment i have the most cooking experience. and that Scares me. Because 2.5 years of college only really taught me how to crack an egg right and cook a mediocre steak. Some of these guys can barely make cereal. lol It's a little funny sometimes. Elder smith is a rad guy though. He's teaching me how to play basketball better.
