Hello Everyone! Sorry it's probably been a while since you have all heard from me.
The last 4.5 months have been some of the busiest on my mission yet! This last transfer I was still training in a new missionary, Working as a District Leader and we had a few baptisms in our district and even one with me and my companion in our area so our P-days became more of a luxury rather than an actual day set aside to prepare. It was really good. But kinda hard at the same time. I value the time we have to prepare for the coming week on Mondays even more now. I have learned how to make every minute of the day a good use of time. being busy is really good. It's really truly very rewarding. But sometimes the most effective use of your time can be stopping to breathe a little bit. Mosiah 4:27 is a very true scripture. So for all you missionaries out there: Take your P-days. Take your lunch breaks. Don't overwork yourself! But work hard. Be diligent. Love God and follow the spirit.
I am serving as a Zone leader now right smack in the middle of New Orleans. It's a very tight little city. Minneapolis has a few thousand more people in it but this is the first time I've ever lived right in the middle of a big thriving city like this. It's crazy. Everything is very cramped. and crazy. There's something for us to do every hour of the day because the city really doesn't sleep! Every road seems to be under construction or in desperate need of construction. lol driving around on all the one ways can kinda make your head spin. I love it though. I love the business of it all. Everyone is doing something. Everyone has there own personal life complete with all their own personal struggles and weaknesses. There's good and Bad for everyone. Sometimes we'll be sitting in a restaurant and I'll point out a guy walking down the street outside and say to my companion "What do you think that guy's name is? Do you think He's having a good day? Do you think his family loves him? I wonder what his fears are. I wonder if he's in love with someone. Where do you think he's going right now? Do you think either of us were friends with him before this life? Where is his heart do you think? Do people like him at work? Do you think he has any friends? what are his hobbies? what sort of healing does he need? how could we help him do you think?" I'll fire off a bunch of questions like this out loud and then we usually end up going out to contact the person to find out all these things after a few moments. It's usually just a regular old contact. But sometimes they open up to us and then miracles happen. And that is why being a missionary is so great.
Me and my Companion are doing great. We were friends before this companionship. He's a really good guy and we have very similar values when it comes to the mission. I think these next few transfers together will be awesome. I wish I had a picture to attach but Unfortunately my camera isn't working again so yall might have to wait until next week.
Peace and love to everyone. I love my mission.
