We had to move apartments this week so all of 2 days was spent packing and cleaning and then cleaning and unpacking in our new place. We had some good things happen though! A lot of this weeks lessons have been much more personal and Individualized. I've been pretty humbled this week. The Lord has really taught me a lot.
Me and Elder Smith spent a while last night talking about the Early Latter day Saints and the struggles that they had. The Pioneers of mormonism had some amazing faith. We talked about Dan Jones and the kind of a missionary he was in his time. Being a missionary is tough. It takes a lot of bravery and a lot of faith. But part of being a missionary and I would even say part of being a mormon especially in these latter days is being different. It's our duty to share what we have. It would be wrong of us to not share the restored Gospel. Sometimes people hate you for it. sometimes they make fun of you for it. Sometimes people will be just flat out rude and mean just simply for trying to share and bring something good into there lives. But God has called us to be different and to stand out and to even be despised.
Wherefore, I call upon the weak things of the world,those who are unlearned and despised, to thresh the nations by the power of my Spirit;
D&C 35:13
Dont be ashamed of your beliefs. Have courage to stand as a disciple of christ everywhere you are. It's your duty to God and your duty to Humanity. I know that in sharing the gospel with friends and loved ones that real lives are changed. Being a part of that change makes all the difference. All the hard days can be made up for in the small moments that people choose to come closer to God. Those are the moments that I live for. To see someone crush a package of cigarettes in there hand and throw it to the ground. To see a man who hasnt been to church in 3 years take the sacrament again. To even here someone pray to God or read out of the Book of mormon for the first time. Those are the things that make all of it worth the effort. That is how we can help change the world.
This week I want to invite everyone to share something with someone. Something about the Gospel that you love. They can already be a member of the church they could be a friend at work or school. Share something to help lift someone up. Should you get shut down and humiliated for trying, know that you are standing arm in arm with the best person this world has to offer. Jesus Christ. If things go well and you are able to change someones world for a moment or a day. You too are standing shoulder to shoulder with Jesus Christ and the workers of the vineyard.
Be proud to be part of this work and part of this church.
I love everyone!!!!
Our Pday is getting split up between today and saturday night (for fireworks) So you might hear from me again on Saturday since we are being cut a bit short this week.
Love to all!
