I've grown really fond of the simple life of a missionary. Every day we meet with people and they go on about the recent Election, Their favorite sports teams, The grind of work life, Even familial issues.
y'all I cant express how nice it is to be completely aloof from all of that. I dont think my life has ever been so stress free. I dont even have to worry about what kind of music Im going to listen to. My mind is free and clear of all the clutter of the world.
Obey the Commandments. I testify that he who loses his life for the Sake of Christ also finds it. (Matt 10:39) For those who have chosen to be baptized you have entered into a promise to Keep the commandments. I try to look at it as though the day I was baptized I gave away my agency. For we know that as we keep the commandments there is safety and peace. I promise you that this is true.
The Desormeaux's son has chosen to be baptized!! We will meet with him this week and pick out a date and begin making plans. He is not a convert Baptism. and actually does not even need to be taught by the missionaries before he is baptized. (we began teaching him at the request of the branch president and his family) Him making this choice will be a great influence to the rest of his family. Especially his Dad. Who is not a member and who has been sitting on the fence with it for years. His father has felt a lot of great changes lately and has definitely been receiving revelation from the spirit. Its exciting to see such great things happening in their family. I love the Desormeauxs.
This week we delivered a Book Of Mormon to a Pastor of another church! He ordered one online and was very excited to receive it. He explained that he's read the Quran and the Torah and many other religious books and was very interested in the Book of Mormon. We explained it to him and introduced where it was from and he LOVED it. He said he might even use it in some of his own teachings. That made me pretty happy to hear. I know he will love reading it. I could see that Light in him. I look forward to following up with him.
I love my savior and am a testimony to his reality. He's real y'all. And He's real kind too. Spend some time and get to know him a little better this week. :)
Faithfully,
-Elder Davis
