Kind of a slower week this week. There were some trainings that took place this week that went WAY over on time and a couple rainy days. We made the most of it at every opportunity though.
There are some Guys that we have been visiting lately that I have kinda grown fond of. They're about our age. Rougher looking group of boys. Probably been down mainstreet a few times. We've been teaching them about repentance and the plan of salvation and how important it is to use this life that we have now to repent and be better while we can. We've been trying to help them see how great their life can be and how that because of Jesus Christ, we can change. Not only change ourselves, but change our very lives and the lives of others!! We can become Great and marvelous people and do much good! We can help be apart of changing the world! Theres a whole group of these boys that we come to see every now and then. about 7 or so total. They're all friends. On one occaision, one of them, named Tyvon, came up to me and told me about how he wanted to do big things with his life but he didnt want to get caught up and confused in all the vain things of this world. He asked me what I thought he could do which made me feel kinda humble actually. On a prompting that came totally from the spirit. I told him "if you want to stay true to who you are and keep out of the 'fake' things in the world you have to always remember where you came from. and YOU came from God. You are his. His child. I promise you that if you always remember that and do your best to repent and always try to be better, you will never be led away into vain things." The spirit was strong. He in particular always seems to get a lot out of our stops and visits.
My favorite memory of tyvon was when he came up to me and said "I did what you said to. It was HHARRDD. I did it though. I tried to repent."
He's still trying. It makes me so happy.
The gospel is so pure and amazing. It is such a priveledge to watch it change peoples lives.
I challenge you to let it change yours this week in some small way.
