I'm going to start this email out by sharing Christmas.mormon.org to those of you who have not seen it. It is a GREAT website that the church made that is dedicated to Christmas and Jesus Christ as the center of it. Share it with your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, dog, and mailman! and on facebook! You too can be a missionary like me! ;) There is a very special spirit at this time of year and it needs to be shared with EVERYONE. This can make this Christmas a very special one if we all do our best to love and serve our neighbors and share the love that we have for Christ.
I would love to see pictures of each of you with a print out of the attached sign and a reason to celebrate Christs birth. Send them to me! and post them EVERYWHERE!
A lot of our investigators are out of town and members too so we have had kind of a slow week this week.
We were able to go see Anna again this week. She has been doing some excellent missionary work and sharing our message with all of her neighbors and family. She wants to invite more people over to her house for us to teach. and we think that is AWESOME! This week after our lesson with her she brought us over to her neighbors house to visit her friend Glenda. Glenda has been struggling and going through a lot of chemotherapy treatments for a cancer that she has. She has been in a lot of pain. We had the opportunity to pray with her and offer support and love to her and her family. I was the one who was asked to say the prayer and I remember feeling very guided in what I should say and ask for. It felt almost like a prayer that one gives in a priesthood blessing. It felt very sincere. I could feel the love that God had for this special child of his. We asked if we could come back to check up on them as we came back to visit Anna in the coming weeks and they said that would be fine. There was a very somber feeling in the house. Their family is going through a very hard time. Anna was hurting pretty badly for them. She has got such a big heart. After we left we were able to explain with greater application the Plan of Salvation. She felt the peace that came from it and her countenance even changed as we taught. It was really cool.
I look forward to skyping my family this week!! We will be doing it from the Sahar family's house so they will probably have the opportunity to meet them and say hi. I look forward to that. The Sahars are very special. :) Brother Sahar is a songwriter and he made a BEAUTIFUL rendition of 'what child is this' that we got to sing in Sacrament meeting. It was wonderful.
In other news:
The Becnels came to see ME at church in the New Orleans ward this week! I got up on the stage to sing our song and I could see them all the way in the back smiling at me. I almost did a backflip when I saw them. For those of you keeping up, the Becnel family was a family that I taught in my last area who live about 30 minutes away and attend a neighboring ward. I got to see their sweet little girl sophie again! She remembered my name and was practically glued to me the whole time. It was really awesome! I was touched that they came all that way just to see me. They are such a lovely family!!!
We had a really intense nerf dart battle over dinner in our apartment the other day. that was a lot of fun. the 2 other elders in our apartment had a blast with us.
We've been seeing a lot of miracles and cool things happening in our zone. Me and Elder Crouch went on 2 echanges this week and have really been enjoying the missionaries that we get to work with as Zone Leaders.
My potted tree is still doing well. the little sproutlings might be dying though. I've been diligently watching it and watering it everyday. I still need to name it.
a guy just walked by my computer in an enormous coat. It's probably about 50 to 60 degrees outside. I'm still wearing short sleeves most days.
I've gotten a few packages from family members and loved ones. Thanks to all who have sent me stuff! I will try to send out thank you cards but I cannot guarantee it. We have so little time to write on pdays. But I love each of you and thank you!!!!!
