Dear Family,
It was really good Skyping all of you yesterday. I loo forward to getting ya'lls testimonies in the mail soon.
We had a pretty cool week this week. I can share one cool story I think. so this week we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders. Me and Elder Rains had served with each other while I was a Zone Leader in NOLA. It was cool to be together again. The morning of exchanges we decided to go tracting. So we said a prayer and picked a place to go. We knocked on a bunch of doors--Nothin. Towards the end of the building we came to one house where a really nice looking lady answered the door. She had a black eye I remeber. So she answered and we said "Hi, We're missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. About an hour ago we said a prayer asking God to direct us where to go and we felt God prompt us to come to this building. Since we started knocking on doors you are the first person to answer...What's your name?" As soon as we said that she broke down crying. We didn't really say anything. She invited us in. When we came into her house she explained that she was probably going to be getting evicted soon and she was really going through a rough divorce. It was really sad. We bore our testimony of God's love for each one of us and His awareness of us in every season and part of our life. We might have Continued but that is really all the spirit constrained us to talk about. It was pretty powerful!!
The more I reflect on experiences like this the more aware I am how involved God really is in each of our lives. It's amazing to me How often experiences just like this happen sometimes God just needs his children to know that He loves them. I think that is the most important and perhaps the most simple and fundamental principle of the Gospel.
I know that God is aware of each of us and if we will look for His hand in our lives and pray to be able to see and discern it everywhere we go we will be able to see it. I see it everyday. All it takes is a desire and an ability to recognize and realize the significance in all the little things in our lives.
I love each of you.
Andrew had a cool haircut. I'm getting my hair cut today. It probably won't look as good as his though. Stylin kid. Let me know if you and Ryan have anymore cool missionary experiences. That really made me happy to hear about how you guys talked about the Word of Wisdom with someone. I know that every testimony has power. God carries each of them as far as he needs t into the hearts of His children!
Keep it up!! I'll try to write y'all again next week!
Love Always,
Elder Davis
